Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is one of the most effective and long-lasting solutions for unwanted hair. Using two industry-leading devices chosen for their ability to treat a wide range of skin types and hair textures, our team of Licensed Master Estheticians tailors every treatment to the individual — so you can spend less time on temporary fixes and more time feeling confident in your skin.

What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a clinically proven, non-invasive treatment that targets hair at the follicle, progressively reducing growth over a series of sessions until the follicle is no longer able to produce hair. It's effective across a wide range of skin types and hair textures, and can be used on virtually any area of the body where unwanted hair is a concern.
At ASBS, we use two industry-leading devices, the M22® and SmoothCool® lasers, chosen for their precision, efficacy, and versatility across different skin tones and hair types. Results are long-lasting, and for most patients, permanent reduction is achievable with a full course of treatment.
CONCERNS ADDRESSED:
- Unwanted Facial Hair: Addresses hair on the upper lip, chin, cheeks, and sideburns, areas where unwanted growth can be a persistent and time-consuming concern for both men and women.
- Body Hair: Effectively reduces hair across larger treatment areas including the legs, arms, back, chest, abdomen, and intimate areas — delivering long-lasting smoothness without the ongoing commitment of shaving or waxing.
- Ingrown Hairs: By targeting the follicle directly, laser hair removal eliminates the cycle of ingrown hairs that frequently accompanies shaving and waxing.
- Coarse or Dense Hair: Areas with particularly coarse or dense growthrespond especially well to laser treatment, where temporary methods often fall short.
- Hormonal Hair Growth: For patients experiencing unwanted hair growth as a result of hormonal changes, laser hair removal offers a clinically effective way to manage and reduce growth over time.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Laser hair removal works by emitting pulses of light energy that are absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. The heat generated damages the follicle's ability to produce new hair, while leaving the surrounding skin completely unaffected. Because hair grows in cycles, only follicles in the active growth phase can be effectively targeted at any given time — which is why a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart is necessary to achieve full reduction. With each treatment, hair grows back progressively finer and less noticeable, until the follicle is no longer able to produce hair at all.
Treatment intensity is calibrated to your skin tone, hair type, and the area being treated, ensuring both safety and efficacy throughout your course of treatment.
IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?
Laser hair removal is a fit for a wide range of patients and goals, here are some signs it might be worth exploring.
- Temporary Methods Aren't Cutting It: Shaving, waxing, and threading are taking up time and energy you'd rather spend elsewhere — and the results never last long enough to feel worth it.
- Ingrown Hairs Are a Recurring Problem: Persistent ingrown hairs, irritation, or razor bumps in sensitive areas are affecting your comfort and confidence — and no amount of careful shaving seems to help.
- You're Looking for a Long-Term Solution: You're not interested in managing unwanted hair indefinitely — you want a treatment that progressively reduces growth and delivers results that last.
- You Have Coarse or Dense Hair: Particularly stubborn or dense hair growth that temporary methods struggle to keep up with is well-suited to the precision and power of laser treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions
We believe informed patients make confident decisions. Here are the questions we hear most.

Because hair grows in cycles, a series of sessions is necessary to target every follicle effectively. Most patients need between six and eight treatments spaced several weeks apart, though this varies depending on the area being treated, hair thickness, and individual response. Your provider will assess your needs at your consultation and build a treatment plan around your specific goals.
Good preparation makes a meaningful difference to both your safety and your results. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanning products for at least two to four weeks before treatment, and make sure the area is shaved — not waxed or plucked — ahead of your session. Waxing and threading remove the follicle that the laser needs to target, so it's important to stick to shaving between treatments. Your provider will give you a complete preparation guide at your consultation.
Most patients experience very little downtime — some redness or mild sensitivity in the treated area is common and generally settles within 24 to 48 hours. Most patients return to their normal routine the same day, with the simple recommendation to keep the treated area protected from sun exposure while the skin recovers.
You will begin to see results after your first treatment, but optimal results typically require a series of treatments. Hair will become finer and less noticeable with each session, and our estheticians will keep an open line of communication with you (to see whether more treatments are required).
The sensation during laser hair removal is often described as a quick snap or pulse of warmth, similar to the flick of a rubber band against the skin. It's brief and generally well tolerated, and the cooling technology built into our devices helps manage any discomfort in real time.
Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, and your provider will adjust the settings accordingly to keep your experience as comfortable as possible.
